BIOGRAPHY

Mitesh Dixit is an architect, political geographer, educator and founder of the DOMAIN Office, a studio for architecture and urbanism based in Belgrade, Serbia and New York. Dixit's work focuses on crossing design with government policy, society and culture. Currently, his research explores the development of regional and border conditions, following the effects of ideology in the transformations of the built environment. Dixit has taught at TU Delft in the Netherlands, the McWell School of Public and Private Affairs and the School of Architecture at the University of Syracuse, the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje, Northern Macedonia, and the GSAPP of Columbia University. During 2016, Dixit gave international lectures on behalf of the US State Department.

After completing his undergraduate and graduate work in politics and philosophy, Dixit completed a master's degree in architecture from the University of Washington in St. Louis, and then began his career in the office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in San Francisco. Prior to DOMAIN, Dixit worked in Rem Kolhas' bureau for metropolitan architecture, a drop project leader. While at OMA, Dixit has led several international projects, such as the Mahanakon Tower in Bangkok, Holland Green in London and the Kuala Lumpur Financial Area in Malaysia.
